Paris Hilton’s The Memoir might actually be a book I can finish

It was about a month ago when I had ran out of Kardashians to binge and felt like trying something new. The promo pic for Paris’s new reality show kept popping up and I just wasn’t sure I could stomach watching what I expected to be a fairly self-indulgent adventure like the usual fare she had served up in previous shows.

Boy, was I wrong.

This is not the Paris I remember, the one the media packaged up, the executives served on a platter to us to digest without wanting us to look up from the trough. Ok, sure she has that odd voice, but it’s completely characteristic of her confidence and how it seems to embody a presence which is pretty compelling to observe in different circumstances. Watching her interactions with her mum, her sister, her love, it’s more of a steely Bambi, she’s pretty gentle but realy don’t try to fuck with her, she knows her own mind. And thats a refreshing take on what we have been shown over the past two decades.

Completely wrote this and am now adding this paragraph which I blanked on but hey, she has ADHD and it totally explains a lot, the show goes into it and quite honestly, it’s delightful to see her being more comfortable with managing it than having to supress it. Clearly, damage was done over the years, advnatage taken, it’s a fairly commonn scenario with ADHD folks as we all know.

My ADHD brain makes me lose my phone, but it also makes me who I am, so if I’m going to love my life, I have to love my ADHD.

Paris Hilton

So, the show, totally check it out. The Memoir, pick it up if you can, I hope to add it to my collection, but to add to the shelf of books I have READ rather than BOUGHT for FUN, I feel quite confident this will be a hyperfocus.
