NOMI is a mobile friendship-first connection app for folks with disabilities and neurodivergence
We get it. Meeting new people can be fun, but it can also be frustrating, especially for those of us with disabilities. Because our team reflects these communities, our promotion of a diverse, LGBTQ-friendly space comes naturally. No matter what type of connection you’re looking for, we believe human beings are worth more than a swipe right, or a swipe left. That’s why there’s NOMI.
22% of the Canadian adult population and 26% of adults in the U.S. identify with having one or more disabilities. Community helps us thrive as humans. Having people around us who will celebrate our successes, empathize with our struggles and respond to our needs is an experience that everyone deserves.
Having a dedicated space where neurodivergence and disability is the default sets us up for success. NOMI’s goal is to break the conventional dating app mold in order to provide a space to meet everyone’s unique connection needs.
NOMI centers and celebrates disability and neurodivergence.
“I know how important community is for me and how essential it is for me to surround myself with other neurodivergent people who understand my experience, The premise is that disability and neurodivergence is centred and celebrated and the default is disability or neurodivergence, rather than able-bodiedness and neurotypicality like it is in the mainstream dating apps.”
